We are grateful to the Bay Area chapter of ParentChild+ who distributed more than 2,450 new Mathical books to families in need during Summer 2023.
The book giveaway reached more than 300 families comprising more than 1,860 children from birth to age 5. Mathical books were provided in five languages to meet the needs of families.
The distribution touched families through home-based networks in San Jose and Santa Clara counties, plus a cohort of 40 home-based childcare providers in San Jose county, and hundreds of additional families through an Oakland nonprofit partner.
ParentChild+ serves families with free books and in-home facilitation to support reading aloud to young children.
Families receive books, along with support from an in-home educator who provides tips on how to share the books with young children.
