Getting Thousands of Mathical Winning Titles into Schools
Mathical Books supports publishers and authors in many ways:
- We distribute thousands of titles annually from the Mathical List to Title I school libraries nationally throughout the U.S.;
- We partner with the Early Math Project to create free reading guides & activity sheets for selected titles up to age 8;
- We collaborate with TeachingBooks to make the Mathical List available to educators;
- We support the sale of Mathical titles* through NCTE’s Bookshop page dedicated to the Mathical List.
- We invite schools to participate in our first-ever annual Readathon (more details below!)
We loved taking Mathical on the road in Summer 2024 to the first-ever joint conference of our two education partners, the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). We distributed 1,500 Mathical Books to K-5 educators at that event alone. Mathical was a conference partner, distributing titles to every arriving attendee. (And for authors: every invited keynote speaker was a Mathical winning author!)
New: a Mathical Readathon for PreK to 8th Grade
The Mathical Readathon invites classroom teachers around the U.S. to join a community of children and adults of all ages who love both reading & math.
Any educator can participate – reading teachers, math teachers, history and social studies teachers, science teachers, homeroom teachers, special services teachers. All are eligible.
The Mathical book list includes 152 books – for ages 2 to 18. There are books on the list corresponding to many children’s natural interests across all subject areas.
From cooking to music to magic to baseball and football, with plenty of picture books, chapter books, biographies, and novels – it’s a rich list.
There are milestones for schools to meet, and we have a social media kit ready with graphics the school can use to publicize their achievements.

We hope you are as excited as we are about the possibilities for expanding the number of PreK-8 classrooms enjoying a good read! In short: Mathical Books reach children across the United States.
