We at Mathical are saddened by the news of the death of Mathical author Robie Harris on January 6, 2024.
We appreciated her warm and boisterous presence at the National Math Festival in Washington, DC in 2019, where she sat on the carpeted floor of the Mathical Reading Room and read books aloud to children.
Her Crash! Boom! A Math Tale (Candlewick Press) was the 2019 Mathical Award Winner in the PreK category.
Mathical Selection Committee member Dr. Herbert Ginsburg reviews the title fondly. It was one of many titles to her name, all of which, it seems, challenged society to grow in one way or another.
We will miss her!
